Isis Gee , actually Tamara Gołębiowska (* 11. October 1972 in Seattle , Washington as Tamara Diana Wimer ) is an American-Polish songwriter , composer and singer who in 2008 Poland in the Euro Vision Song Contest represented.

Life

Gee began her singing career at the age of five, taking singing lessons in genres from classical to pop , R&B , jazz to country music . She won her first talent contest when she was 13 and was awarded $ 1,000. Four years later she won an international music competition in Los Angeles . In the same year she was also in the preselection for Miss America . At the age of 19 she worked on two jazz albums and toured Asia with them. Back in Los Angeles, she continued her career with Steve Dorff .

In 2004 she moved to Poland and married Adam Gołębiowski.

In 2007 she worked on her first solo album, Hidden Treasure . She also played the song Fate for the album Sehnsucht by Schiller one. In the same year she appeared in the sixth season of the Polish edition of Let's Dance ( Taniec z gwiazdami ) . Despite initial failure, she and her dance partner Zora Korolyov , who previously danced with one of the most famous Polish singers, Kasia Cerekwicka , achieved fifth place among the fourteen participants.

In 2008 she won the preliminary round for the Polish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. It received the highest rating from the jury and the audience also gave it the highest number of points. The song For Life was able to qualify on May 20, 2008 in the first semifinals for the final by a wildcard from the jury on May 24th. In the final she reached the penultimate place.

Gee lives near Warsaw.
