Blue Café is a Polish pop band, with elements of acid jazz , funk , soul and Latin rhythms from Łódź . They were nominated in the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards in the Best Polish Act category. The band became internationally known in 2004 with the song "Love Song", the Polish contribution to the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest .
history
The band's first single "Español" was released in August 2001, but it was not very successful. A year later, the song "Kochamy siebie ..." was released, which became a huge hit, and the debut album Fanaberia attracted listeners and critics. In the same year the band won the Fryderyk in the category "Debut of the Year" for the song . In 2003 the band took part in the Polish preliminary round of the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "You May Be in Love". It was won by the Polish band Ich Troje with the song “No Limits - Żadnych Granic”, which reached 7th place in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga. The song "You May Be in Love" only reached third place in the preliminary round, which brought the band national success. In the same year the album Fanaberia got the platinum record certified. In 2003 the band released their second studio album Demi-sec , which reached number 3 in Poland. The album contains the song "Love Song", with which the group took part in the Polish preliminary decision for the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest . This time the band won with over 60,000 votes. In the final in Istanbul the song reached 17th place with 27 points. In 2005 the band toured abroad.
In autumn 2006 the band released their first studio album ( Ovosho ) with a new singer (Dominika Gawęda). It got gold record certified a week after its release. The fourth album Four Seasons was released in spring 2008. This reached number 4 in the Polish album charts. In May 2011, the fifth studio album DaDa was released , which reached number 7 in Poland. The album got the gold record certified. The single Buena reached number 1 in the Polish Airplay Charts, where it stayed for four weeks.
