Donatan (2014)

Donatan (* 2 September 1984 in Krakow , Poland as Witold Marek Czamara ) is a Polish music producer . He represented his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 together with Cleo with the song My Słowianie and came in 14th.

Donatan has been a producer since 2002. In 2007 he worked for the first time on the album Brudne południe . He also co-produced on 2cztery7, Donguralesko and Mes albums . In the next few years he worked with Pih, Pyskaty, Chada, WdoWa, Pezet, Małolat, Paluch, Sheller, Massey, Waldemar Kasta, and Onar, among others.

In October 2012 Donatan released his debut album Równonoc. Słowiańska dusza . This reached the top of the album charts in Poland . With over 75,000 copies sold, the album was also awarded the Diamond Record . The first single "Nie lubimy robić" (Eng. We don't like to work ), which he recorded with Borixon and Kajman, became a hit in Poland. To date, the music video for the song on YouTube has been viewed over 24 million times.

In October 2013 Donatan released the song "My Słowianie" (Eng. We Slavs ) together with the singer Cleo . The music video for the title was viewed over 10 million times on YouTube within a week. In total, it has been accessed over 59 million times. The title debuted at number two in the Polish single charts. An English version of the song was released on February 9, 2014 under the title "Slavic Girls". In February 2014 the TVP announced that Donatan and Cleo would take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen with the song "My Słowianie" . The duo reached 14th place in the final with 62 points. If only the audience's vote is taken into account, the song would be among the top five with 162 points, which led to repeated criticism of the divided voting mode between audience voting and jury opinion at the Eurovision Song Contest.
