Onet.pl SA (formerly Optimus Net ) is a Polish Internet company founded in June 1996 , which is now part of the ITI Group . The company operates the largest Polish internet portal , Onet.pl.
The Internet portal Onet.pl was founded in 1996 by the Polish computer company Optimus under the name Optimus Net . Onet.pl has been majority owned by Ringier Axel Springer Media AG since 2012 .
Onet.pl now offers information on topics such as national and international politics, sport, music and culture. Forums and chat rooms are also available. In June 2005 Onet.pl signed a contract with Skype Technologies , which gave the Internet company the opportunity to offer its own version of Skype ( OnetSkype ). Today (as of March 2011) Onet.pl is the second most visited website in Poland after the Polish version of Google .
