concept
On January 2, 2020, the public broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) presented its plans for the 2020 preliminary round. After an internal selection in 2019, the broadcaster returned to a public preliminary decision. This was based on the concept of the preliminary decision for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 , Szansa na Sukces . Accordingly, 21 performers took part, distributed over three semifinals and then presented a cover song according to the semifinal motto. A three-person jury selected an interpreter for each semi-final who qualified for the final on February 23, 2020. In the final, the three qualified candidates presented a cover song and their potential contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest. The jury and the audience decided equally on the winner of the preliminary decision. Michał Szpak , Cleo and Gromee formed the jury. They represented their country in 2016 , 2014 and 2018 .
The programs were moderated by Artur Orzech and broadcast on TVP2 .
Choice of contribution
From January 2 to 12, 2020, potential composers and candidates had the opportunity to submit a contribution to TVP. Only Polish citizens could submit contributions or apply as candidates for the program.
