Piosenka dla Europy 2008 was the final of the Polish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 . It took place on February 23, 2008 in the Polish capital Warsaw . The program was broadcast by the Polish TV channels TVP1 and TV Polonia , moderated by Katarzyna Sowińska and Radosław Brzózka.

The field of participants was expanded compared to the previous year, instead of ten there were thirteen artists, with three artists being drawn by a wildcard, one band was disqualified before the show because they had not adhered to the rules. In addition, before the draw for the wildcard participants, the performer Krzysztof Zalewski was disqualified because of the same rule that says that the song cannot be published publicly before October 1st . One of the five substitute interpreters started for him.

One contribution was in Polish, eleven in English.

In contrast to 2007, in addition to the televoting and text messages from viewers, there was also a nine-member jury who cast their votes.

The winner of the preliminary round was Isis Gee with the song For Life .

Wildcards

On February 8, 2008 the singers Izabela Kopeć and Natasza Urbańska as well as the band Żywiołak qualified for the final by wildcard. Żywiołak was disqualified a few days later for breaking the rules. Since this was so late, this band was not replaced by another artist.
