Norma John (2017)

Norma John is a Finnish pop duo consisting of Leena Tirronen (* 1984 , vocals ) and Lasse Piirainen ( piano ).

The band has existed since 2008, in the first few years they were supplemented by three other musicians. In 2010, singer Leena Tirronen became known for reaching third place on the Finnish version of the talent show The X Factor . A solo album and three singles could not, however, place in the charts. After this time the band, now reduced to a duo, became active again.

The two took part in the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2017 , where they won on January 28th. They represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev with the song Blackbird ( German  blackbird ). After participating in the first semi-final, however, they could not qualify for the final of the competition.
