Kristin "Krista" Siegfrids (born December 4, 1985 in Kaskinen ) is a Finnish singer . With her song Marry Me she represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 .
Life
Siegfrids was born as a Finnish Swedish in Kaskinen , western Finland. Her mother tongue is Swedish , but she is fluent in Finnish . In addition to her music career, she studied teaching in Vaasa for two years, but dropped out prematurely for her music career.
Career
Siegfrids started her career together with her band Daisy Jack in 2009. Their first single Perfect Crime was released in October 2011. From 2009 to 2010 she performed her first role in the musical Play Me at the Swedish Theater in Helsinki. Immediately afterwards she was cast for the rock musical Muskettisoturit ( The Three Musketeers , 2011) at the Finnish Peacock Theater in Helsinki. In 2011 Siegfrids took part in the first season of the Finnish version of The Voice , where she was eliminated in the semifinals.
Siegfrids took part with her song Marry Me in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2013, the Finnish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 . She won the competition very narrowly and represented Finland at the ESC 2013 in Malmö . In the semifinals , Siegfrids caused a scandal when she kissed one of her dancers on the mouth at the end of her performance. In response to this kiss, the Turkish TV broadcaster TRT refused to broadcast the final. Chinese television didn't show the kiss either. In the final , Siegfrids decided to kiss and finally finished 24th out of 26 places.
After the ESC 2013 she participated as a coach in the Finnish edition of The Voice Kids . She also released two other singles in Finland, Amen and Can you See me? wear. Meanwhile she is working on her second album.
In 2016 and 2017 Siegfrids took part in the Melodifestivalen , the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , but was eliminated in the semifinals.
