Debbie Scerri

Debbie Scerri (aka Deborah Scerri; * 1969 in Rabat ) is a Maltese singer .

Her first assignment at the Eurovision Song Contest was in 1993 as a background singer for William Mangion . In 1996 she took part in the Maltese preliminary decision without winning.

A year later she won the preliminary round and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in Dublin with the pop song Let Me Fly , which earned her ninth place - and the first Barbara Dex Award . She remained active as a singer and could be heard at other music competitions; she also appeared in Maltese clubs and on cruise ships. In 2004 she tried again in the preliminary round of the Malta Song for Europe together with the rap group Prodigal Sons , but could not win here either.

She was then seen as a presenter on Maltese television.
