Miriam Christine

Miriam Christine Borg Warner (stage name Miriam Christine ; born June 30, 1979 in the Brazilian state of Goiás ) is a Maltese pop musician and singing teacher.

Miriam Christine was born in Brazil in 1979, the youngest of 16 children, but adopted by Maltese parents at the age of 13 months; since then she has lived on the island of Gozo . She gained her first stage experience at the age of six. Her musical career began when she was named "Best New Artist" at the Malta Music Awards in 1995. The following year she won the Maltese qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest with the title In a Woman's Heart (composition: Paul Abela ; text: Alfred C. Sant) . At the international finals she reached tenth place out of 23 participants.

Then she released her first album Smile 'n' Shine in 1998 with thirteen titles. In addition to her singing career, she increasingly worked as a presenter on Maltese television. In 2002 she released an album with L-Emigrant with new recordings of well-known Maltese-language songs, followed in 2004 by an English-language album with LittleZee , to which Christine contributed the music herself.

After several years of release, she returned in 2008 with the single Alone Today in the music scene; In 2009 she again took part in the Maltese preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest. However, with the ballad Mama she only reached 15th place out of 20 participants. Lately she also worked as a singing teacher.
