Claudia Faniello (2017)

Claudia Faniello (born February 25, 1988 in Qawra ) is a Maltese singer . She is the sister of Fabrizio Faniello .

Career

Faniello began her career at the age of twelve when she appeared on various television shows and festivals. In 2006 she took part for the first time in the Malta Song for Europe, the Maltese preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . At the Malta Song for Europe 2006 she reached twelfth place out of eighteen with High Alert , while her brother won and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 . At the Malta Song for Europe 2007 she took part with L-Imħabba Għamja , but retired in the preliminary round as ninth of sixteen. In the following year she took part twice in the Malta Song for Europe 2008: With both the song Caravaggio and Sunrise , she reached the finals, where she finished second and third out of eight participants. At the Malta Song for Europe 2009 she did not get a podium with Blue Sonata . With Sumsara she finished eighth out of twenty at the Malta Song for Europe 2010 after qualifying for the final in the preliminary round. In 2011 she qualified again for the finals with Movie in My Mind , where she finished ninth out of sixteen places, while her brother made it to fourth place. After qualifying for the preliminary round, she came second with Pure at the Malta Song for Europe 2012 , better than Fabrizio, who only came in sixth. When It's Time was her 2013 title that made her seventh out of sixteen. She did not take part in the Malta Song for Europe 2014; her brother was eliminated in the preliminary round.

She only returned to the Malta Song for Europe 2017. On February 18, she finally succeeded in winning the ballad Breathlessly , so that she represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev . After participating in the second semifinals, however, she could not qualify for the final.
