Amber Bondin (stage name Amber ; born May 26, 1991 in Kalkara ) is a Maltese singer . She represented her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna .

Life

Amber Bondin was 16 years old her first singing lessons with the Maltese musician Brian Cefai before the two casting shows Trid Tarah and The Academy took part. At the age of 18, she took second place in the first season of the talent show ID and came fourth in the Malta Hit Song Contest with her song Take it easy . Shortly afterwards she won the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza with her song Trid Taprezza .

In 2011 Bondin applied with Catch 22 and Touch Wood to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest , the preliminary decision for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest . Here she finished 13th. In 2012 she took part again in the MESC and came third with the song Answer with your eyes . At the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku , Bondin was the backing singer for the Maltese act Kurt Calleja , who ranked 21st with his song This is the night . In 2013 she took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest again with the title In Control , where she came in fourth. In 2014 she again took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the title Because I have you , where she came in fourth like last year. At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 she was a member of the Maltese jury.

In 2014 the singer applied again with Warrior , which was written by Elton Zarb, and became one of the 20 semi-finalists. She won the final with 72 points. At the song contest in Vienna, after participating in the second semi-final, she was unable to qualify for the final.

Bondin currently lives in Kalkara and is doing her Bachelor of Education at the University of Malta .
