Lynn Chircop

Lynn Chircop (born August 10, 1980 in Santa Venera ) is a Maltese singer and television presenter. The artist , who also only appears under her first name Lynn , achieved international fame through her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 . After their marriage in 2004 she worked as Lynn Faure for Maltese broadcasters as a television and radio presenter.

Life

Lynn Chircop was born in Malta in 1980 as the daughter of Philip and Carmen Chircop. The brother Alan also comes from this marriage. Parents encourage their children's musical talent from an early age. Even as a four-year-old won Lynn Chircop with the song We Are The World children's singing competition Mini Kanta and both children were given piano lessons. She attended the Catholic St. Joseph School in Blata l-Bajda , a suburb of Ħamrun . In addition to the official languages Maltese and English, Lynn Chircop speaks Italian, French, Spanish and German. After school, she trained as a tourist guide ( Tourist Guide License ) at the Maltese Institute of Tourism Studies . She completed her training as a musician with piano studies at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig and attended German courses at the Herder Institute there .

Back in Malta she played classical music with other musicians as a trio or quartet. As a pop music interpreter, she performed solo or as a member of the Blend7 group in hotels and nightclubs. On February 8, 2003, Lynn Chircop took part in the Maltese preliminary decision for the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest . A total of 24 participants started at the Kanzunetta Maltija gropall-Ewropa / Malta Song For Europe event organized by the Maltese television company PBS at the Malta Fairs & Convention Center in Ta 'Qali . Chircop performed the song To dream again , composed by Alfred Zammit , the text of which was written by Cynthia Sammut. In a decision, half of which was determined by a jury and half by televoting , this song won first place. On May 24th 2003, Lynn Chircop represented her home country Malta with To dream again in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Latvia. The song could not convince the international audience and reached the 25th of 26 places.

Before taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest, Lynn Chircop began her television career as an announcer at Education 22 . In 2003, she hosted the youth program Klabbzone radio station TVM . She also presented the popular radio programs Separju and Eurovision Radio on SUPER 1 Radio . In the summer of 2004 she started the ta 'Lynn Show , which she produced and hosted , her first own television show in the SUPER 1 TV program . The show format 22pm followed in 2006 and the program E-updates in 2009 .

Lynn Chircop married the Australian musician Antoine Faure, who was born in Australia in 2004, and has performed as Lynn Faure ever since. From this marriage a daughter was born. In addition to her involvement in television and radio, Faure is still active as a singer and pianist and composes her own pieces. She gives singing and piano lessons, works as a tour guide and gives English courses.
