Vilija Matačiūnaitė (born June 24, 1986 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian pop musician .

Life

After graduating from high school in Užupis in 2005 , Vilija Matačiūnaitė worked as the second assistant director for the film Diringas (directed by Ignas Miškinis), took part in the festival in Moldova and studied real estate management at the Vilnius University of Technology , business management at the Vilnius University from 2006 and then music at the College of Vilnius .

Matačiūnaitė caught media attention in 2005 when she reached the finals in the national preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 and finished in seventh place. In the same year she was a participant in the popular music reality show Kelias į žvaigždes ( LNK ), where she came second. In 2010 she took second place on the dance reality show Kviečiu šokti . In 2013 she won the LRT televizija music competition . She was also a presenter at the show Romeo ir Džiuljeta of TV3 .

After she won the Lithuanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 , she entered the second semifinals in Copenhagen with the self-composed song Attention . However, she could not qualify for the final. Two weeks after the competition, she won the prize for the worst costume in the 2014 competition, the Barbara Dex Award, through the Dutch eurovisionhouse website .
