Aivaras Stepukonis

Aivaras Stepukonis (* 1972 in the Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian philosopher and singer. He represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn , Estonia . From 1998 to 2001 he was the singer of the group Footprints . Then he started his solo career and released several albums.

Life

From 1983 to 1986 he studied at the 1st Music School in Kaunas and from 1987 to 1991 at the Kauno konservatorija (the clarinet class). From 1992 to 1994 he studied philosophy and theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio, USA). From 1995 to 1998 he completed a master's degree in philosophy at the International Academy of Philosophy ( Schaan , Liechtenstein). From 2001 to 2005 he did his PhD in philosophy at Kultūros, filosofijos ir meno institutas in Vilnius .

Since 2005 he has been a Senior Science Fellow at the Institute for Lithuanian Cultural Studies. Since 2007 he has also been the director of UAB "Kranto studijos".

Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002

Stepukonis came second in the national preliminary round in Lithuania. However, since the band B'Avarija was disqualified before the song contest, Stepukonis was able to go to Tallinn with his song Happy you . There he was the last interpreter, after Marie N from Latvia . He reached a penultimate (23rd) place with 12 points, so that Lithuania had to take a break in 2003.
