Ieva Zasimauskaitė-Kiltinavičienė (born July 2, 1993 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian singer who represented her home country Lithuania with her song When We're Old in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 and came in 12th.

Life

Ieva Zasimauskaitė grew up in the second largest Lithuanian city of Kaunas. She already occupied herself with music in kindergarten. Zasimauskaitė graduated from high school at the Vytautas Magnus University ( VšĮ Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto "Rasos" gimnazija ) in Kalniečiai . From 2012 to June 2015 she completed a bachelor's degree in Hotel Management at the International School of Law and Economics in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . In 2014 Zasimauskaitė spent one semester on the Erasmus program in Barcelona . In spring 2015 she did an internship in a hotel in her hometown Kaunas. In December 2015 she was working in a gift shop.

Ieva Zasimauskaitė attended the first grade since she was 7 and was accepted into the singing class of the Aleksandras Kačanauskas Music School in Kaunas in Žaliakalnis in the second half of the year . After eight years, she completed the subject of " Estradic Singing". At the music school Ieva sang in the children's singing band "Linksmasis do" and played the piano . She also took part in various competitions and festivals. Then Zasimauskaitė took a year-long break without music. When she was 16 years old, she then took part for three months as a member of the Kaunasser Choir in the TV3 project “Chorų karai” ( Choir Wars ). After the choir (led by Raigardas Tautkus) won the TV project, Zasimauskaitė gave concerts with her choir throughout Lithuania for about three years; up to 16 concerts were organized per month. She then began to work personally with the composer and music producer Tautkus, leader of the boys' band NEO, after which she met her future husband in 2011.

In 2012 the Lietuvos balsas (“Lithuanian Voice”) project followed, where Zasimauskaitė reached the superfinal. Shortly thereafter, she began her solo career. The first song she composed was “Pasiilgau” ('I missed'). At the 2015/2016 New Year's Eve, Zasimauskaitė sang as an invited singer in a restaurant. Then she had a lot of concerts with her live band. Mostly she sang at events, weddings, corporate events (songs by Adele , Rihanna , Alicia Keys ). Ieva Zasimauskaitė tried to represent her country at Eurovision in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 . She learned vowel from rock singer Česlovas Gabalis, opera singer Kristina Zmailaitė, Rosita Čivilytė and Gendrius Jokūbėnas (in Panevėžys ). Ieva is also a songwriter and sings songs she has composed.

Her parents are medical professionals and also like to sing. The father plays the guitar. Ieva has the four years older brother Ugnius Zasimauskas (* 1989).

Ieva Zasimauskaitė was married in June 2015 after a friendship of five years in a Catholic Archangel Michael Church in Kaunas. Her husband Marius Kiltinavičius (* 1982) is the basketball coach of the Lithuanian national basketball team (U-20), former coach of BC Sūduva-Mantinga and singer of the boys band NEO Since 2014, both have been vegetarians , are interested in Ayurveda , and practice meditation. The couple made several pilgrimages to India together .
