Skamp (2009)

Skamp are a Lithuanian pop band formed in 1998 . The band became known in Lithuania with a cover version of the song "Summertime" by Ella Fitzgerald .

Members

The members Victor Diawara and Vilius Alesius got to know each other during their school days in Germany at the Lithuanian grammar school in Lampertheim (Hessen) and therefore speak very good German. After graduating from high school, they moved to Lithuania, where they met the singer Erica Jennings. While Victor Diawara was born in Mali to a Lithuanian and a Malian, Vilius Alesius was born in Lithuania.

Eurovision

Skamp represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen ( Denmark ). You were only the third Lithuanian representative at the contest . With their song You Got Style , Skamp reached 13th place with 35 points, which until 2006 was the best result ever achieved by Lithuania.
