Vaidas Jacob Baumila (born March 28, 1987 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian singer . He represented Lithuania at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest .

Life

In 2009 he completed his studies in entertainment scene art at the Vilnius College .

He learned to sing from the opera singer Vytautas Juozapaitis , professor at the Lithuanian Music Academy . Baumila studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow ( Scotland ). In 2011 he completed his master's degree at the Guildford School of Acting in England . From 2012 he worked on the ship " Queen Elizabeth ". He then worked in the operetta at the Union Theater in London ( Borough of Southwark ).

He became known by participating in the talent show Dangus on TV3 , where he was able to achieve third place. As a musician he worked with Linas Adomaitis . In 2013 he took part in the Lithuanian ESC preliminary decision for the first time and reached the final of the last three. Also in 2015 he reached the final of the preliminary decision for Vienna and won it in a duet with previous competitor Monika Linkytė and the title This Time (German: This time). At the final of the song contest in Vienna, the duo finally came in 18th
