Monika Linkytė at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015

Monika Linkytė (born June 3, 1992 in Gargždai ) is a Lithuanian singer . She represented Lithuania at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest .

Life

After graduating from high school in Gargždai, Linkytė studied public health for three semesters at the Faculty of Medicine of the Vilniaus universitetas (VU) in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . Since September 2014 she has been studying law at the VU law faculty.

music

Although she originally wanted to be a dancer, she came into contact with music as a child through piano lessons and embarked on a career as a singer. Between 2006 and 2008 she took part in various competitions and was able to achieve high placements. From 2010 to 2014 she took part in the Lithuanian ESC preliminary round every year and was able to win it on February 21, 2015 in a duet with Vaidas Baumila and the title This Time (German: This time). The duo made it to the finals, where they finally reached 18th place.
