Klaus Kanter (born November 16, 1922 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , died June 7, 2020 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German master dental technician . During his active time, he was a professional politician for the dental technician trade from 1956 to 1994 and founder of the Klaus Kanter Foundation.

Life

In 1950 Kanter passed the master's examination in the dental technician trade and went to Colombia in the same year. In 1951 he returned and started his own business in Frankfurt.

In 1956 he was one of the founding members of the Association of German Dental Technicians Guilds (VDZI) and was a board member from 1956 to 1979, 1981/82 and from 1991 to 1994. From 1968 to 1979 Kanter was president of the association - during this time the Health Insurance Cost Control Act fell .

From 1962 to 1999 he was head master of the dental technicians ‑ guild Rhein-Main and from 1964 to 1999 state guild master of the dental technician trade Hessen (LIVH). From 1965 to 1968 and from 1981 to 1982 he was deputy federal guild master of this health trade .

From 1973 to 1981 and from 1989 to 1991 he was President of the European Association of Dental Laboratories and from 1981 to 1988 and from 1991 to 1993 Vice-President.

In 1977, Kanter was President of the VDZI and a key representative of the interests of dental technicians when they were incorporated into statutory health insurance - at that time still RVO (Reich Insurance Code ).

In 1992, Kanter founded the “Klaus Kanter Foundation for the Promotion of Master Training and Qualification in the Dental Technician Trade”.

Every year since 1994, the Klaus Kanter Foundation has honored the best practical master craftsman's examination in Germany.

The non-profit foundation is registered in the “ Golden Book of Foundations of the City of Frankfurt am Main ”.
