Reynaert

Reynaert (* 1955 in Seraing ; actually Joseph Reynaerts ) is a Belgian ( Walloon ) singer and songwriter .

biography

At the age of 18 Reynaert began to earn money as a street singer. In 1978 he took part in the Spa song competition, which he won with the title Cerf-volant . In 1985 he published as “J. Reynaerts ” his first album with Voyages Désorganisés . In 1988 he took part with the song Laisser briller le soleil ( Let the sun shine ) in the Belgian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , which was organized by the Walloon TV station RTBF under the title Concours eurovision de la chanson - finale nationale . He was able to prevail against the other eleven participants with the ballad, which he had co-written. For the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 , the text of the song was changed slightly and was finally launched under the title Laissez briller le soleil ( Let the sun shine ). At the competition in Dublin Reynaert was unsuccessful and finished 18th with five points (all from France) and thus third from last place. Laissez briller le soleil was released as a single, but was not a great sales success. Since then, the singer has become quiet.
