Vanessa Chinitor (born October 13, 1976 in Dendermonde in the province of East Flanders ) is a Belgian singer.

Vanessa Chinitor became known to a wider audience in 1996 when she took part in the talent show Ontdek De Ster , which was organized by the broadcaster vtm , and made it to the final. Then in 1998 their first single In al mijn dromen was released. The following year she took part in the Belgian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with the song Like The Wind . After several semi-finals, she was the winner after the final on February 28, 1999 and was allowed to represent Belgium at the international final in Jerusalem . She reached a shared twelfth place with 38 points. In retrospect, she criticizes that politics are above all a quality criterion for the country points. A Dutch version was published under the title Hoog op de wind .

In the following years several singles have been released, including When The Siren Calls 1999 and Verlangen 2000 and Je hart 2004. The album Costa Romantica was released in 2001 together with Bart Kaëll . In 2006 she tried again at the Belgian qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest, the Eurosong '06 . With the song Beyond you , she did not qualify for a semifinal place in her quarter-finals.

With Een koffer vol dromen she released a new album in 2009.
