Jim Hager

Jim Hager (born August 30, 1946 in Chicago , Illinois , † May 1, 2008 in Nashville , Tennessee ) was an American musician , comedian , actor and television presenter . Together with his twin brother Jon, he hosted the show Hee Haw between 1969 and 1986.

Life

Jim Hager's career was linked to his brother throughout his life. You started out as a singer in the church choir. As teenagers, they sang in shows on local television. After they both did military service, they moved to California and performed at Ledbetter's Night Club in Los Angeles alongside The Carpenters , John Denver , Steve Martin and Kenny Rogers . They also worked at Disneyland , where they were discovered and signed by Buck Owens . The brothers then opened for Tex Ritter , Wynn Stewart , Billie Jo Spears and Lefty Frizzell .

In 1969 they were signed to the CBS show Hee Haw , the series became a huge hit and ran for almost 25 years. In the same year the brothers signed a recording deal with Capitol Records and had a hit single in the country charts. In all, they recorded six albums. In 1976 he starred in the TV movie Twin Detectives with his brother Jon .

Jim Hager died of a heart attack on May 1, 2008, Jon Hager died eight months later on January 8, 2009.
