Lily Castel

Lily Castel (born April 10, 1937 in Ghent as Alice van Acker ) is a Belgian singer and participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1971 together with the singer Jacques Raymond .

Castel was discovered on the talent show Ontdek de Ster in 1958. She was then active as a singer, often performed with orchestras and also seen on television.

The singing duo Nicole & Hugo was originally intended for the Belgian contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 1971, Goeiemorgen, tomorrow . However, since the singer Nicole fell ill, a replacement had to be found very quickly. The choice fell on Lily Castel and the Eurovision participant from 1963, Jacques Raymond. The song then placed 14th out of 18 possible places.

Lily Castel remained loyal to singing for many years and had numerous performances at home and abroad.
