Benny Neyman

Wilhelmus Albertus (Benny) Neyman (born June 9, 1951 in Maastricht , Netherlands ; † February 7, 2008 in Soesterberg , Netherlands) was a Dutch singer .

biography

In the early 1970s, Neyman began training at the Cabaret Academy in Amsterdam . In the late 1970s he had his first successes in his home country with chanson- like songs by various performers such as Reinhard Mey , Stephan Sulke or Joe Dassin , whose texts he always translated into Dutch himself. In 1983 Benny Neyman released his first German-language album “Sketches”, but it wasn't until 1985 that the big breakthrough came with the song “Then I'll call you again”, which he had previously released in the Dutch version and which became his biggest hit. In addition to a few singles, two more albums in German were released in 1987 and 1994. Benny Neyman also sang some duets in English with the front woman of the band Pussycat , Toni Willé.

Neyman died of cancer on February 7, 2008 at the age of 56.
