coat of arms

The name "Haslach" comes from the brook Hasel (Haselbach) whose first known mention of "Rivolus Hasla" is dated to 817. The Haslach-Bach, from Mhd. Hasalah, was thus a watercourse, on whose banks hazel bushes grew. The coat of arms of the village therefore includes a hazel branch and a shepherd's crook. This coat of arms was first discovered in 1576 on a stamp found on a contemporary document.
