Architecture mediation
The architecture agency sees architecture as a public expression of human culture and its dauerhaftesten and komplexesten manifestations that daily affects the lives of all people. The artistic, technical and economic fundamentals, effects and manifestations of architecture and city are not self-explanatory, according to the architecture education department. They have to be analyzed, processed and communicated so that the participating architects and planners can work together with the public.
Architecture communication therefore takes place wherever interfaces between specialists (architects, building planners), users of architecture (owners of buildings, residents / tenants, schoolchildren and students, employees in company buildings, customers and visitors, investors, etc.) and the public ( Neighbors, citizens of the community, interest groups) exist. It can take many forms: moderation and mediation of planning processes, work in teaching and research institutes, architectural journalism and publications, exhibition design and event management for museums, training and discussion events for institutions (workshops, public administration, chambers of architects, etc.), guided tours in z. B. monuments or teaching units etc.
The target groups of architecture mediation are builders, architects, users, interested citizens, children, young people, etc. Architecture mediation is not a one-way street; The aim is a continuous dialogue at eye level as a prerequisite for a high level of architectural art, the promotion of commitment to one's own built environment and the development of contemporary forms of participation in planning processes.
Research is being carried out at various universities in German-speaking countries to convey architecture. The content of the corresponding courses of study is the analysis and critical reflection of approaches, understandings and phenomena of architecture and the city, their communication with communication concepts that make sense for the respective target groups and the development of suitable media and formats.
