Benedictine convent Rosheim
The Benedictine convent Rosheim (also: Monastère Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur ) has been a priory of the Benedictine Sisters of the Holy Sacrament in Rosheim ( Bas-Rhin department ) in France since 1862 .
history
The Benedictine convent Saint-Nicolas-du-Port founded a daughter monastery in Rosheim (25 km southwest of Strasbourg ) in 1862 , which still exists today ( Rue Saint-Benoît 3 ). The neo-Gothic chapel dates from 1898. From 1863 to 1939 the sisters maintained a boarding school for girls. Today they live from the production of wafers and the reception of guests in the H ôtellerie La Paix-Saint-Benoît . They pray in a special way for the construction of Europe and attract guests from all European countries.
From 1939 to 1945 the monastery took in the Ottmarsheim sisters , who had to leave their monastery due to the war.
