The national highway 129 ( R 129 ) was until 1945 a state road of the German Reich . It led in a north-south direction from Steegen ( Polish: Stegna ) on the Gdańsk Bay via Marienburg ( Malbork ) and Marienwerder ( Kwidzyn ) to Garnsee ( Gardeja ) and was in connection with the war events of 1939 via Thorn ( Toruń ) to Lodsch ( Łódź) expanded. It was then a central connecting road between the former province of West Prussia and Danzig to southwest East Prussia , and then through West Prussia to the province of Posen .

The total length of the R 129 was 338 kilometers.

Today several Polish voivodeship and national roads run on the route of the earlier R 129: Droga wojewódzka 502 (DW 502), Droga krajowa 55 (DK 55) and Droga krajowa 1 (DK 1) (= European route 75 ). They connect the Pomeranian Voivodeship with the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Łódź Voivodeship .
