The national highway 398 ( R 398 ) was until 1945 a national route of the German Reich , the fully occupied in the 1940 and subsequently Civil Administration asked the German Empire Grand Duchy of Luxembourg went. The road began in Ettelbrück , where it branched off from what was then Reichsstraße 57 , and ran in a north-westerly direction on the route of today's national road 15 leading to Bastogne in Belgium , where it ended at the village of Doncols (Donkols) in the municipality of Winseler .
Their total length to the Belgian border was around 31 kilometers.
