The national highway 343 ( R 343 ) was until 1945 a state road of the German Reich was that annektiertem on Czech territory in 1938. The road began in Znojmo (Znaim) on what was then Reichsstraße 96 and led on the route of the current Silnice I / 53 to Pohořelice (Pohrlitz), where it met Reichsstraße 96 .

Their total length was around 39 kilometers.

On March 23, 1942, the Krems – Znaim line was declared part of Reichsstraße 343 by a decree issued by the General Inspector for German Roads .
