history

The Reichsstraße 97 , introduced in 1934, led from Guben via Crossen and Schwiebus to the then German-Polish border at Tirschtiegel . From there a transit route led through Polish territory via Posen , Gnesen and Thorn to East Prussia .

Extensions

On July 4, 2006, the Guben bypass, which is around 15 kilometers long, was opened to traffic by the Parliamentary State Secretary Ulrich Kasparick and the Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Planning of the State of Brandenburg Frank Szymanski . According to the Federal Ministry of Transport, this section cost around 30 million euros. In 2007, construction began on the Spremberg / Schwarze Pump bypass, which opened on September 16, 2011.

The Wolfssäule Laußnitzer Heide is located directly on the main road along the six-kilometer route through the same heather between Ottendorf-Okrilla and Laußnitz.
