The National Highway 10 ( R 10 ) was up to 1945 a national road , of the Saar limit at two bridges to the Austrian border at Salzburg led.

After the incorporation of the Saarland in 1935, this street was extended to Homburg , where it led into Reichsstraße 40 , which connected Frankfurt with Saarbrücken .

The former Reichsstrasse 10 continued from Augsburg via Munich , Ebersberg , Wasserburg am Inn and Traunstein to Freilassing on the Austrian border. Later, the section east of Munich was given its own number as federal highway 304 and was continued in 1938 after the connection with Austria via Bad Ischl and Bad Aussee to Styria . The R 2 and R 10 imperial roads ran between Augsburg and Munich on a common route via Fürstenfeldbruck .

Large parts of Reichsstraße 10 are now Bundesstraße 10 .
