The federal highway 115 (abbreviation: B 115 ) is a 135 kilometer long federal highway in the south of Brandenburg and in the east of Saxony . It begins in Jüterbog and ends in Görlitz .

As Reichsstraße 115, the route originally led to Peiskretscham near Gleiwitz . In the GDR, the numbering scheme for trunk road 115 was adopted.

course

From Jüterbog the road leads over the Niederen Fläming to Baruth / Mark . The B 96 and B 115 use the same route between Baruth and Golßen , where the B 115 branches off and reaches the district town of Lübben in the Spreewald via the A 13 motorway (Freiwalde junction) , where it meets the B 87 .

Until the end of 2004 it continued from Lübben via Lübbenau / Spreewald , Vetschau / Spreewald and Cottbus . Halfway between Cottbus and Forst (Lausitz) , she turned south at the junction to the previous B 122 , in order to continue via the Roggosen junction of the A 15 via Gablenz to Döbern .

At the end of 2004, the federal highways 115 and 122 between Lübben, Cottbus, Forst and the Bademeusel (A 15) motorway junction on the federal border with Poland , which were partially within sight of the A 13 and A 15 motorways , were downgraded to state road 49 and the B 122 complete deleted from the inventory. The cities of Vetschau and Lübbenau have lodged an objection against this gradation and brought an action before the Cottbus Administrative Court. The proceedings have thus been halted (suspensive effect) and until the Lübbenau level crossings have been clarified, it will remain a federal road. The "old" route to Forst remains and it reaches Döbern on a stepped former state road and thus the state border between Brandenburg and Saxony near Tschernitz .

From Tschernitz the B 115 and the B 156 to Krauschwitz use the same route, where the B 156 branches off in the direction of Bautzen . The B 115 continues via Weißkeißel , Rietschen and Niesky to Görlitz . Shortly before Görlitz, the B 115 crosses the federal motorway 4 , which in Zgorzelec continues as the Polish A4 motorway . In Görlitz, the B 115 changes to the B 6 (towards Dresden ) and the B 99, which runs to Zittau .

history

The former Reichsstraße 115 led from Görlitz via Bunzlau and Haynau to Liegnitz and from there via Jauer , Schweidnitz and Neisse to Peiskretscham . There was a connection to Reichsstrasse 5 . Today this section is largely the Polish Droga krajowa 40 .

The section between Lübben and Cottbus was completed in 1845, the section between Cottbus and Görlitz in 1850.

From March to October 1998 the 1.7 km long bypass of Jämlitz was rebuilt.

In 2003, a bypass of Döbern was planned, but the plan was rejected because it is no longer included in the federal transport route plan.
