history
The small village of Klasdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1444. The Friends of the Baruther Urstromtal Nature Park assumes that it is said to have been a founding by Nikolaus von Schlieben . In 1716 a glassworks was built, around 1800 an outwork , a windmill and a tar smelter. In 1841 a brick factory started operations in the village. Like Baruth, Klasdorf belonged to the Kingdom of Saxony and the Baruth rule until 1815 , after which it belonged to Prussia . In 1875 the place got a connection to the newly built Berlin – Dresden railway line . This was expanded to two lanes in 1906/1907. In this context, craftsmen tore down the previous guard's house and erected a two-story station building. The local volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1912.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Glashütte was incorporated. On December 31, 2001, Klasdorf was incorporated into the city of Baruth together with its part of the municipality Glashütte and Dornswalde , Paplitz , Petkus and Schöbendorf . In 2019, construction began on a new fire department building that can also be used as a village community center.
