history
Klein Ziescht was first mentioned as Cleynen Czycht in a loan letter for Balthasar and Caspar von Schlieben in 1444 . According to the literature, the name should be derived from the Slavonic and mean something like "clear, clean (water)". The Friends of the Baruther Urstromtal Nature Park points out that the Rundling may have been at a different location earlier. He refers to the name "Alt-Klein Ziescht". In the Brandenburg name book it is pointed out that Klein Ziescht has had the addition "Klein" since the first record in 1444, while the Baruther district of Groß Ziescht appeared in 1363 initially as "Tzist" and from 1420 as "van dem cziste". The district belonged to the Baruth estate and came into the possession of the von Solms from 1596 . Klein Ziescht belonged to the Kingdom of Saxony until 1815 , then to Prussia . From the year 1823 it is known from the new topographical-statistical-geographical dictionary of the Prussian state that 105 "souls" lived in the place. The number rose sharply to 195 inhabitants in 1867. The existence of a brickworks is recorded from 1874.
On April 1, 1974, the place was incorporated into the city of Baruth / Mark.
