Dornswalde is a district of the town of Baruth / Mark in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg , Germany.
geography
The Rundlingsdorf Dornswalde is located around 40 kilometers from the southern border of the city of Berlin and around seven kilometers east of Baruth on the northern edge of the Baruther glacial valley . Other neighboring towns and districts of Baruth are (clockwise, starting from the south) Glashütte , Klasdorf and Radeland as well as Rietz-Neuendorf ( Oder-Spree district ).
Dornswalde is on the north-south BAB 13 between Teupitz and Lübbenau / Spreewald .
A large part of the district consists of extensive meadow areas. To drain the Baruther glacial valley, the residents dug a system of ditches, including the Baruther Buschgraben . In 1978 a pumping station was completed to better regulate the water level. The area offers a habitat for numerous water birds.
history
Dornswalde is mentioned for the first time in 1444 as Denritzwalde and belonged to the Kingdom of Saxony until 1815 .
On December 31, 2001, Dornswalde was incorporated into the city of Baruth together with Klasdorf, Paplitz , Petkus and Schöbendorf .
