Les Abrets is a former French commune with 3,470 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belonged to the Arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin , to the canton of Chartreuse-Guiers . The inhabitants are called Abrésien (ne) s .
It was merged with the former municipalities of La Bâtie-Divisin and Fitilieu with effect from January 1, 2016 and merged to form the Commune nouvelle Les Abrets en Dauphiné .

Les Abrets is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Chimilin in the north, Romagnieu in the northeast, Pressins in the east and southeast, Charancieu in the south, Saint-Ondras in the southwest, Saint-André-le-Gaz in the west and Fitilieu in the west and northwest.
The former route nationale 6 (today's D1006) and 75 (today's D1075) run through the area .
