Fitilieu is a former French commune with 1,918 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belonged to the Arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and was part of the canton of Chartreuse-Guiers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Geoire-en-Valdaine ). The inhabitants are called Fitiliards .

It was merged with the former municipalities of Les Abrets and La Bâtie-Divisin with effect from January 1, 2016 , and merged to form the Commune nouvelle Les Abrets en Dauphiné .

geography

Fitilieu is about 30 kilometers west of Chambéry . The Bourbre River runs through the surrounding area. Fitilieu is surrounded by the neighboring towns of La Bâtie-Montgascon in the north-west, Chimilin in the north-east, Les Abrets in the east and south-east and Saint-André-le-Gaz in the south.
