The Bourbre is a river in France that runs in the Isère department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the municipality of Burcin , initially drains in a north-easterly direction, but then turns to northwest, later to north and flows after 72 kilometers in the municipality of Chavanoz as a left tributary into the Rhône . Between Bourgoin-Jallieu and Charvieu-Chavagneux, the river is canalized and is called Canal de Dessèchement de la Bourbre .
