Saint-Clair-de-la-Tour is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-de-la-Tour in the north, Faverges-de-la-Tour in the northeast, La Bâtie-Montgascon in the east, and Saint-André-le-Gaz in the South-east, Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour in the south and La Tour-du-Pin in the west.

The Autoroute A43 runs along the southern edge of the municipality.
