Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour is located about 55 kilometers west-southwest of Lyon on Lac Saint-Félix, which drains over the River Moulins into the Bourbre , as a banlieue in the south-east of La Tour-du-Pin . Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Clair-de-la-Tour in the north, Saint-André-le-Gaz in the east, Le Passage in the southeast, Chélieu in the south, Montagnieu in the southwest, and Sainte -Blandine to the west and La Tour-du-Pin to the northwest.
The Autoroute A43 runs along the northern edge of the municipality.
