Doissin is a French municipality with 881 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; administratively it belongs to the arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and is part of the canton of Le Grand-Lemps (until 2015: canton of Virieu ). The inhabitants are called Doissinois .

Doissin is located about 54 kilometers east-southeast of Lyon . Doissin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montagnieu in the north and north-east, Chélieu in the east and north-east, Val-de-Virieu and Panissage in the east, Blandin in the south and south-east, Montrevel in the south and south-west, Biol in the west and Torchefelon in the west and north-west.
