Panissage is a town and commune Déléguée in the French commune of Val-de-Virieu with 446 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The inhabitants are called Panissageois .
On January 1, 2019, the Panissage municipality merged with Virieu to form the Commune nouvelle Val-de-Virieu. It belonged to the arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and was part of the canton of Le Grand-Lemps (until 2015: canton of Virieu ).
geography
Panissage is located about 58 kilometers east-southeast of Lyon . The Bourbre delimits the Commune déléguée in the southeast. The community Panissage was surrounded by the neighboring communities Chélieu in the north and east, Virieu in the southeast, Blandin in the south and southwest and Doissin in the west.
