Leyrieu is located about 33 kilometers east-southeast of Lyon . Leyrieu is surrounded by the neighboring communities Vernas in the north and northeast, Annoisin-Chatelans in the east, Crémieu in the south and Saint-Romain-de-Jalionas in the west.
