Châbons is a French commune with 2,075 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; administratively it belongs to the arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and is part of the canton of Le Grand-Lemps . The inhabitants are called Châbonnais .

geography

Châbons is located about 58 kilometers southeast of Lyon and about 36 kilometers northwest of Grenoble . The source of the Bourbre lies on the southern border of the municipality . Châbons is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montrevel in the north, Blandin in the north and northeast, Burcin in the east and southeast, Colombe and Le Grand-Lemps in the south, Longechenal in the southwest and Bizonnes in the west.

The A48 autoroute runs through the municipality .
