Cessieu is a French commune with 2,984 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and the canton of La Tour-du-Pin . The inhabitants are called Cessieutois (es) .

geography

Cessieu is located about 47 kilometers southeast of Lyon on the Bourbre River . Cessieu is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ruy in the north and west, Rochetoirin in the east and northeast, Saint-Victor-de-Cessieu in the south and southeast and Sérézin-de-la-Tour in the southwest.

The motorway triangle is located in the municipality between the A43 autoroute and the A48 autoroute . To the south-east is the La Tour-du-Pin airfield.
