Oyeu is a French commune with 1,006 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; administratively it belongs to the arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and is part of the canton of Le Grand-Lemps (until 2015: canton of Virieu ). The inhabitants are called Oyentins .

geography

Oyeu is located about 63 kilometers southeast of Lyon and about 33 kilometers northwest of Grenoble . Oyeu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Val-de-Virieu with Virieu in the north, Le Pin in the north and northeast, Charavines in the east, Apprieu in the south and southeast, Colombe in the southwest and Burcin in the west.
