Voissant is a French municipality with 226 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs administratively to the Arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and is part of the canton of Chartreuse-Guiers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Geoire-en-Valdaine ). The inhabitants are called Voissignauds .
geography
Voissant is about 18 kilometers west-southwest of Chambéry . Voissant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Albin-de-Vaulserre in the north, Saint-Béron in the north-east, Miribel-les-Échelles in the east and south-east, Merlas in the south and south-west and Saint-Bueil in the west and south-west.
