Miribel-les-Échelles is a French commune with 1,763 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Grenoble and is part of the canton of Chartreuse-Guiers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Laurent-du-Pont ). The inhabitants are called Miribelain (ne) s .
geography
Miribel-les-Échelles is located around 26 kilometers north of Grenoble in the Chartreuse Mountains . The Guiers flows along the northeastern edge of the municipality . Miribel-les-Échelles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Béron in the north, Saint-Franc in the northeast, Les Échelles in the east and northeast, Entre-deux-Guiers in the east, Saint-Laurent-du-Pont in the southeast, and Saint-Joseph -de-Rivière in the south, Saint-Aupre in the south-west, Merlas in the west and Voissant in the north-west. The municipality is located in the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park .
